Wet Cupping and Hijama Therapy Brisbane
Wet cupping therpay (WTC) involves perforation of the skin with a lancet to cause small amounts of bleeding before the suction cup is placed over the area. This has a powerful effect of relieving pain and tension in soft tissue due to venous congestion. It regulates the bodies ability to provide proper circulation and increase oxygenated blood to injured sites, which can assist in repair and healing. Only single use disposable cups are ever used for this treatment to maintain highest standards in safety and hygiene for clients.
Integral Healing is Brisbane's Leading Wet cupping and Hijama Therapy Clinic.

The disposable cups have finally arrived. Appointments for wet cupping are now open.
Most recent detailed research done on the bio-mechanics of wet cupping is very interesting...
"WCT benefits from the suction pressure, phenomenon of reactive hyperemia, nitric oxide production and skin scarifications (openings in skin barrier) in enhancing natural excretory skin functions, improving
lymphatic and capillary circulations and restoring homeostasis."
(Sayed, Mahmoud, Mabo 2013.)

Other literature shows that the micro tearing in capillary/vasculature from cupping initiates complex blood vessel formation Improving overall oxygenation, increasing diapedesis for debris clearing and most importantly anti-inflammatory/local opioid secretion for peripheral pain relief.
Wet cupping can be especially useful with long standing chronic back pain with disc herniation or muscle spasm in the lumber area. In all treatments the surface of the skin is inspected very carefully to identify exactly where the blood stasis or venous congestion is located. The local area is then pricked and cupped to relieve the pressure, pain and inflammation to the local tissues. Cupping can also potentially reduce high blood pressure, stress and tension.
Studies have been done on the biochemtistry make up of the blood that is extracted during wet cupping. The by the curious Dr David Parker 2010 published his results in ICS masagzine. It has been showed that the blood taken out during the procedure of Hijama Cupping Therapy has higher levels of pathological blood contents (including heavy metals) when compared to standard venous blood taken through canulation. The Pathological blood other wise commonly reffered to as "bad blood" in ancient times actually has higher levels of things that can be toxic to human life and cause chronic illness and disease, Biochemical substances included Heavy Metals, Cholesterol, Target cells, Burr Cells, Creatinine, Glucose, Salts, Transferrin cells. See full article here.
Amazingly the research also shows lower levels of blood Plasma and White Blood cells then compared to normal blood. Which indicates strongly that the "good blood" is not taken out or adversly effected during the Hijama Cupping treatments.
